Accommodation
Bedroom One
At the top of the stairs to the left is the pink bedroom, with views out over the lovely cottage garden. The king sized zip & link bed can be made up as 2 singles if required; you’ll find bedside tables, lights and a chest of drawers; there’s a cupboard at the top of the stairs for your use.
Bedroom Two
Turn right at the top of the strairs for the blue bedroom which also enjoys views over the garden. In this room too the king sized zip & link bed can be made up as 2 singles on request; there’s bedside lighting, a chest of drawers & cupboard, and a dressing table finishes this room off.
Shower Room & Utility Room
Leading off the kitchen downstairs is a utility room with underfloor heating, a washing machine, hand basin, mirror and heated towel rail; this space leads to the stylish modern walk-in shower room with loo.
Sitting Room & Kitchen / Diner
Entering from the country lane outside you arrive into a gorgeous bright and airy sitting room, with a space by the front door to hang your coats.
The sitting room has a working inglenook fireplace and four arm chairs, side tables, wall lights and a 40” wall-hung TV. There are books to read, games to play and a Dansette record player with a box of records. This comfortable space is the ideal place to relax in at the end of a busy day exploring.
Stairs from the sitting room lead up to the two double bedrooms. A door leads from the sitting room into the kitchen.
The newly refurbished kitchen/diner has a tiled floor with underfloor heating. The kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, oven and dishwasher. A welcome hamper awaits your arrival, with a handy pint of milk in the fridge. The cupboards are filled with an eclectic mix of new and vintage crockery, glasses and serving dishes, bringing an added level of charm and delight. There is a good-sized kitchen table seating four to six with built-in upholstered bench seating and two dining chairs.
Cottage Garden
A stable door from the dining area leads out into a lovely English cottage garden framed by an ancient apple tree, fenced and surrounded by mature hedging and seasonal wild flowers. There’s space to enjoy relaxing around the garden table, with seating for four plus.
We regret no BBQ’s are permitted due to the thatched roof.
We are Dog-Friendly!
Don’t leave your dog behind, they enjoy their holidays as well. We have a welcome hamper with bowls & treats at the ready for one four-legged friend (or other pet).

The Thatched Hive has been in the Acock family for nearly 50 years, having been bought at auction from the Longford Estate in 1974.
We spent 2022 refurbishing and updating the cottage for the next generation with lovely fabrics and colours and a sympathetic blend of antique and contemporary furniture, offering a truly lovely break!
